Superman or Super Foods!

Indeed super foods would save your lives better than superman! Also termed as “Functional foods”. Super foods have potentially positive effects on health beyond basic nutrition. They have many health benefits that either cure or prevent the procession of many diseases. Some of it listed below:





1. Wheat Bran :

It is the outer layer of the grain wheat which is naturally packed with a bunch of nutrients. Not only does it offer an extraordinary fiber boost, but also helps in promoting regular blood pressure. It maintains your digestive health by providing a good source of insoluble fiber, which can help prevent or treat constipation. It also acts as a prebiotic promoting the growth of healthy gut bacteria. Wheat bran contains essential nutrients like manganese and vitamin B vitamins allowing it to boost your energy levels, improve immune function and support your nervous system.

How to use it : Add 2 Tsp of wheat bran in your regular chapattis or phulkas, parathas or even bread.





2. Methi Seeds:

Methi seeds / fenugreek seeds are loaded with health benefitting properties. It is used by lactating mothers in the production of milk, helps in controlling blood sugar levels.It helps in boosting your metabolism thus helping in weight loss. Regular consumption helps in strengthening your digestive system and check issues like gastritis and bloating.

How to use it: Soak 1 Tsp of methi Seeds overnight and have first thing in the next morning. The same can be sprouted and added in the salads and as a garnish over rice preparations.





3. Sabja Seeds:

Also called basil seeds are full of fiber content which keeps your stomach fuller for longer time further prevents over eating. They are rich in antioxidants and have immunity boosting properties. They are known to reduce body heat, control blood sugar levels, relieve constipation and bloating, treat acidity and heartburn.

How to Use it: 1 Tsp should be added in a glass of Lemonade or Nimbu Pani or any other juices.





4. Flax Seeds :

Commonly known as Alsi .It provides good quality fats, fiber and anti oxidants. Available in the form of seeds , oil, powder, tablets, capsules, and flour.Used to prevent constipation, diabetes, high cholesterol, heart disease etc.

How to use it: Crush/ Ground 1 tsp of flaxseeds and can be rolled with regular flour for making rotis. Can also used as toppings or garnish on various gravies or rice preparations.




5. Sunflower Seeds:

They are flat,oval and black colored seeds which are packed with B complex vitamins, which are essential for healthy nervous system. Good Source of Phosphorus,Magnesim, Iron, Calcium, Potassium,Vitamin E etc.It Contains Good quality fats that helps in keeping your heart healthy. Contains trace minerals like, copper, zinc, manganese, carotene etc.

How to use it: Can be consumed as a snack, Can be sprouted and incorporated in Salads and consumed raw.





6. Apple cider Vinegar:

It is a natural Laxative helps in improving digestion. Improves insulin Sensitivity thus maintains normal blood sugar levels, reduces belly fat, and improves heart health by lowering blood pressure and reducing cholesterol.

How to use it: Make your salad dressing out of apple cider vinegar or just add 1tsp of it in water and drink it up!
