FAQs about diet:
Hello Readers, this segment would be really interesting as I would be discussing many frequently asked questions by my clients while counselling them about their diet schedule.
1. Why is eating 2 hourly important?
Scientifically for anyone to maintain weight or even lose it, one has to keep up his/ her metabolism. Metabolism is the process by which your body converts what you eat and drink into energy. Hence feeding yourself frequently is essential.
Now let’s talk about the practical scenario. At times it becomes very inconvenient to eat anything consciously after every 2 hourly. So to make it simpler, not necessarily 2 hourly but something should be taken in between major meals to keep up your metabolism. E.g. Apart from your three major meals, include fruits and dry fruits and drink in between them.
2. Is there a right time to eat a specific food?
Understand that nature has made food to enjoy and relish it anytime of the day. But remember excess of anything is harmful to the body. If you balance your carbs intake throughout the day, eating fruit anytime of the day would not harm you. Similarly it’s a myth that eating curd at night will fetch you cough and cold. Yes, if you already have one, avoid curds at dinner time.
If you are trying to lose weight or have type II diabetes, avoid having carbs like rice, wheat, maida, potato etc. post evening.
If that’s not the case, enjoy food just the way nature has made it and nourish yourself any time of the day.
3. Can I eat out while losing weight?
If you are travelling and following a particular diet, why not. What you choose from the outside food, matters the most. In case you happen to attend a birthday party or a marriage ceremony, you cannot ask the hotel manager to give you ragi dosa or bajra roti on the menu.[ Even though a lot of health outlets do provide you with the same]. Any restaurant would cater to your taste buds rather than your health. So choosing your food wisely helps you not gain those extra kilos while eating out.
4. What options would you suggest while eating out?

5. Can you give me a diet plan which will help me lose weight and tummy ?
Definitely. But before giving you the diet plan I want your dedication and willingness to follow a particular diet or an exercise regime. Mindful eating is something I always encourage my clients to do. Blindly munching on, not maintaining proper schedule would not provide you with the expected results. Your dedication and passion is required to achieve anything in life!
And trust me whoever follows a proper regime , comes out with flying colors. And for those who have tried every possible techniques to lose weight but are unable to do it, remember you are not known only by your weight. Being thin/ slim is not the only way to give you happiness. Your weight is not an indicator of you being healthy or fit. Measure your efforts and not your weight! Be Positive, Be Active, Eat Mindfully, Stay healthy!
